What Is Yuvashree Arpan Scheme?
All of us know that unemployment in India is growing rapidly in India and there are lots of qualified youths who are not getting any job according to their level. The government also don’t have any way to recruit such a huge number of people in Govt jobs. So, now the government is helping youths to start their own small and medium-sized businesses and give jobs to other youths.
With the same intention, Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday 6th March announced this new scheme called Yuvashree Arpan Scheme. This will help youths to make new startups, micro, and small businesses. And govt will give financial support to a specific extent. This will help to grow the startup culture in the state and will change the mindset of youth from seeking a job to giving the job to others. Currently, that’s the best way Government has to sort out the unemployment issue to some extent.
Some Facts About The Scheme
Below are some of the facts about the new scheme launched by the CM of West Bengal:
- The funds for the scheme will come from the MSME department of West Bengal.
- Each entrepreneur will get Rs 1 lakh fund to start their startup, micro or small business.
- This scheme will help promote entrepreneurship in the state.
- Proper implementation of the funds will open new positions for job seekers.

Majority of the youth are currently jobless. And in smaller cities and villages, there are very fewer businesses operating which can generate enough employment for their locality. But there are lots of talents across the country who might have an amazing business idea which can be a billion dollar business in the near future.
There are many examples of CEOs like Ritesh Agarwal of OYO, Binny Bansal of Flipkart, Bhavish Aggarwal of OLA, etc. who came from lower and middle-class family and founded billion dollar companies. But at the initial stage, every entrepreneur needs funding to fuel their business.
That’s where West Bengal Yuvashree Arpan Scheme will come into play. The eligible youth entrepreneurs will get Rs 1 lakh of financial assistance to start their startup, micro or small business which will help them grow initially. And once the business becomes stable and hires others to fulfil their need for human resources, the unemployment issue of the State & Country will be sorted out eventually.
Eligibility Criteria
Below are the eligibility criteria for the scheme. The applicants must fulfil all the criteria given below in order to get funding from the government through the scheme for their startup, micro or small business:
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- ITI and Diploma (Polytechnic) passed candidates are eligible to apply for the scheme.
- The applicant must have a good plan for the startup which has potential and could be implemented.
- The applicant must be a youth.
- All holders of technical degrees from recognized institutes are eligible for the scheme.
How To Apply For The WB Yuvashree Arpan Scheme?
The scheme was just launched a few days ago, and there’s no official instruction on how eligible youths can apply for the scheme. Hopefully, soon they will introduce ways to apply for the WB Yuvashree Arpan Scheme online or offline along with all required documents.
