The central Government of India has recently launched a new scheme called PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana for small, poor and marginalised farmers of India. Under this scheme, all the eligible farmers of the country will get income support every year in three installments. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
The primary objective of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is to help poor, smaller and marginalized farmers with financial support. Currently, small farmers face a lot of economic issues, and sometimes they rely on moneylenders to meet the expenses. So, this yojana will help them financially and will ensure the proper health of the crop and appropriate yields.
What are the Benefits of the Scheme?
As I said earlier in this article, this scheme will help poor and small farmers by providing them with income support. All the farmers who will be eligible will get Rs 6,000 per annum. The total amount will be offered in three different installments throughout the year. The PM Kisan Yojana is in action from 1st December 2018. So, the first installment will be provided until 31st March 2019 for the financial year 2018-19.

This is the official web portal for the PM Kisan Yojana. All types of documentation and guides regarding the scheme is given there. Currently, only State/ District nodal officers can log in to the portal to prepare the database. The portal also shows a detailed view of both eligible and excluded categories for the scheme. The portal comes under PM Modi’s Digital India initiative and is designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre.
Who is Eligible for the PM Kisan Yojana?
As mentioned earlier, small, poor and marginalized farmers who hold land will be eligible for this scheme. The cultivable land owned by the farmer family must not be more than 2 hectares. The name of the landholder must appear in the land records of States or UT as on 1st February 2019 to be eligible for the PM Kisan yojana. PM Kisan Yojana List
The 1st installment for the period from December 2018 to March 2019 will be released soon, and the PM Kisan Yojana List might be made available through the PM Kisan portal as well as offline. Users will be able to check the list of eligible beneficiaries name on the web portal. Over 12 crore small and marginalised farmers qualify for the scheme across the blocks and villages.
How will State/District Officers Prepare PM Kisan List?
- State/ District admins will create login credentials for PM Kisan Portal for eligible officers.
- Once login on the portal, Farmers list will be shown on their screen
- Officers can search Farmers by Name, Mobile Number, Aadhaar Number etc. If there are no details found, the facility to add new Farmers details will be available on the Portal.
- After successful verification, the District level or block/tehsil/taluka level officials will e-sign and prepare the beneficiary list.
PM Narendra Modi launched the scheme in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh on 24th February 2019 by transferring Rs 2,000 each (1st installment) to over one crore farmers directly into their accounts. The cash transfers will continue for several days to the beneficiaries account.
The release date for the 2nd installment is 1st April 2018. The benefits will be transferred into the accounts of beneficiaries automatically. The government said that Adhaar with bank accounts would not be compulsory to avail the 2nd instalment of Rs 2,000 under Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. However, the Aadhaar number is required to avail scheme benefits. The cash transfers process will start from April and it may take a few days to credited into your account.
How to Check the Beneficiary List?
Offline: The beneficiary lists might be available at Panchayats to ensure greater transparency and information.
SMS: If you have provided a mobile number then States or UTs would notify whether you are an eligible beneficiary through system generated SMS.
Online: Head over to the official site pmkisan.nic.in or pmkisan.gov.in, and you might be able to check the PM Kisan Yojana List.
At what time of the year installments will be provided?
The total amount is Rs 6000, and it will be provided in 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd installments. Rs 2000 will be given to the eligible candidate with a gap of 4 months each. For the 2018-19 financial year, one installment shall be provided w.e.f. 1st December 2018.
What is the Cut-Off Date?
The cut-off date shall be 1st February 2019. After that, changes shall be considered only in case of the transfer of land because of the death of the landowner. Only after 5 years, changes will be considered for other reasons.
How will the Eligible Candidates be Shortlisted for the Scheme?
You might be wondering that how Govt will identify and shortlist the eligible candidates for the PM Kisan Yojana. Well, that will be done by looking at the record of land in states or Union or territories. And State government will identify the eligible landholder farmer family.
What are the Documents Required to Receive the Installments?
Some documents need to be provided by the states on the PM Kisan portal in order to receive financial support from the scheme. Below you can see the required documents:
Apart from that, there are some states such as Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, etc. where Aadhaar card is not available to most of the residents. For them, the Aadhaar number will be collected from where it is available or other alternative identity verification methods may be used by the State government for this purpose.
What if your Name is Not Available in the List?
To include your name in the PM Kisan Yojana list, you must approach the District Level Grievance Redressal Monitoring Committee in your district.
Is Giving The Aadhaar and Bank Account Details Mandatory?
Yes! It’s mandatory to give your bank account details and Aadhaar card details to receive the installments from the government. Without having your bank account details, how one can send you the money? In case the Aadhaar number is not available, users must submit their Aadhaar enrolment number.
Can States Or UTs Provide Certified List Of Candidates In Phrases?
States or UTs are allowed to submit the certified list of eligible candidates in phrases or batches. The installments will be provided on a regular basis when the States or UTs give the list.
